In 1926, Central was closely connected with the establishment of what was later to become Carey Baptist College. Since then, our partnership with Carey has continued: we’ve had a Carey Summer Student serve here nearly every year since 1996, and through the Boulcott Fund, we provide scholarships for pastoral training.
In mid-2019, the Central Discipleship Collective was formed to serve as the coordinating and resourcing team for discipleship initiatives at Central, focused on learning, service, and fellowship. The CDC exists to see people growing on their journey as followers of Christ—to get closer to God and imitate Jesus in our daily lives. We arrange things like small groups, special events to celebrate different seasons, and “Chunky Topics”, where someone helps us reflect theologically on public issues.
